IO Interactive’s critically acclaimed HITMAN 3 experienced the addition of NVIDIA DLSS, ray-traced opaque reflections, ray-traced shadows, and a ton of content. I worked as a Game Capture Artist taking advantage of ray tracing enabled, NVIDIA DLSS boosts at 4K.
In the stealthy world of assassination and intrigue, a groundbreaking collaboration unfolded between myself and NVIDIA GeForce, marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of HITMAN 3. Focused on the recent update that brought support for Ray Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS, my role was to capture the shadows, reflections, and intricacies of the game through in-game photography. This collaboration stands as a testament to the marriage of cutting-edge technology and artistic expression.
Ray Tracing, known for its ability to simulate realistic lighting and shadows, breathed new life into HITMAN 3. My task was to seize those moments when the play of shadows defined the mood, whether it was Agent 47 lurking in the darkness or the glint of a weapon catching the ambient light.
NVIDIA DLSS, a technology that employs deep learning to upscale lower-resolution images, further amplified the visual fidelity. Each photo became a showcase of the game’s stunning details, from the intricacies of Agent 47’s attire to the reflections in polished surfaces.
The Symbiosis of Technology and Art
This collaboration was more than a technical showcase; it was a celebration of the symbiosis between technology and artistic expression. In-game photography became a medium through which the power of Ray Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS was translated into visual narratives, each frame telling a story of enhanced realism and immersive gameplay.
